A588 Grade A steel plate is for high strength low alloy structural steel with 345Mpa minimum yield point to 100mm thickness. When properly exposed to the atmosphere, A588 Grade A is suitable for many applications in the bare condition.

Tensile: 70 ksi min (4" and under), 67 ksi min (4"- 5") 63 ksi min (Over 5"-8")
Yield: 50 ksi min (4" and under), 46 ksi min (4"- 5") 42 ksi min (Over 5"-8")
Elongation: 16% min in 8" 19% min in 2" (for plates wider than 24")
