40Cr steel is medium carbon quenched and tempered steel. Normalizing can promote spheroidization of the structure and improve the cutting performance of the blank with hardness less than 160HBS. Tempering at a temperature of 550 to 570 ° C, the steel has the best overall mechanical properties. The steel has a hardenability higher than 45 steel and is suitable for surface hardening treatment such as induction hardening and flame hardening.
