202 stainless steel is one grade of 200 series stainless steel . 200 series stainless steel is a low nickel and high manganese stainless steel. Nickel content is generally below 4%, 8% manganese, a nickel-stainless steel.

202 is a United States grade, equivalent to 1Cr18Ni9. Austenitic stainless steel is characterized by the high phase transition temperature, so it can be used as heat-resistant steel. For austenitic stainless steel phase transition,it must be heated to above 1000 ℃, so at 350 ℃, the microstructure changes will not occur, that is to say, the performance of steel do not change drastically.
